At approximately 12:15 PM on Sunday February 26, 2023, the Burlington Township Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Mount Holly Road for an assault.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the suspect, Jacoby Durant (21-year-old male from Edgewater Park, NJ), approached the victim while she was seated in her vehicle. Durant then inappropriately touched and assaulted her. The victim was able to fight Durant off at which time he fled on foot. The victim provided a description of Durant and officers were able to apprehend him a short distance from the attack. The victim received non-life-threatening injuries.
Durant was charged with Criminal Sexual Contact, Simple Assault, and Harassment and was lodged in the Burlington County Jail. Durant was later released pending trial.
