INCIDENT: Major Injury Hit and Run Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Barton Road / University Avenue, Loma Linda
SUSPECT(S): Unknown
VICTIM(S): James Spivey Jr., 40-year-old resident of Loma Linda
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at about 7:43 p.m., deputies responded to a man down call at the intersection of Barton Road and University Avenue. Deputies discovered a male lying on the ground against the center median, in the westbound lanes of Barton Road. The victim was identified as James Spivey Jr. Spivey was provided medical care at the scene and transported to a local hospital.
Investigators believe Spivey was struck by a vehicle traveling west on Barton Road. The vehicle failed to stop after the collision and fled toward Waterman Avenue.
