Fleeing Arrest – JV2309991
On 3/2/23 at approximately 12:36am a Janesville Police officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection Tripp Rd and Kellie Ct. The driver was identified as Catherine M Waite and provided a false name for the passenger. Waite stepped out of the vehicle and the passenger moved to the driver’s seat and drove off. The subject (passenger) later identified as Shannon R Patterson proceeded to drive away at a high rate of speed and fled from officers.
Shannon disabled his vehicle at the intersection of S Hayner Rd and Rockport Rd by driving into a ditch. Shannon proceeded to get out of the vehicle and get into a foot chase with officers. Shannon was taken into custody in a field just North West of S Hayner Rd and Rockport Rd.
Shannon was provided with medical treatment and was held at the Rock County Jail.
Shannon is currently on probation for felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to deliver - cocaine. Shannon has a history of convictions for violent crimes to include: aggravated battery with intent to cause great bodily harm and resisting/obstructing an officer causing substantial bodily harm.
