TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Tomorrow’s Heavy Rain May Produce Flooding

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé reports that due to anticipated heavy rainfall tomorrow, many streets may be flooded and should be avoided by drivers.
 
Tomorrow, beginning at approximately 8 p.m., rain with wind gusts of up to 33 mph, is expected with precipitation amounts of between 1” and 2” possible. The rain is expected to continue until 6 a.m. Saturday.
 
The listed locations should be avoided by drivers due to flooding conditions or the potential for flooding.
 
The Department of Public Safety is coordinating responses to burglar alarms, flooding conditions, and other weather-related incidents through the combined use of Police, Fire, and Office of Emergency Management Personnel. Special attention should be given to unsecured outdoor furniture, awnings, refuse, and building materials.
