Precipitation is expected to begin from southwest to northeast Friday afternoon and then continue through early Saturday morning. Precipitation is expected to be mostly rain south of the I-80 corridor though a wintry mix is possible Friday evening in the I-78 corridor. The wintry mix in the I-78 corridor will change back over to rain by Friday night. In the I-80 corridor, a wintry mix is expected throughout with predominately snow/sleet Friday afternoon and evening becoming freezing rain later Friday night.
Widespread rainfall around 1” is expected with locally higher amounts possible in the I-95 corridor and in Central New Jersey. Minor flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas is possible.
Easterly winds increasing to 20 to 30 mph Friday night with gusts up to 45 mph possible along the Atlantic coast. Wind gusts of around 30 to 40 mph possible elsewhere Friday night. Winds become westerly to northwesterly and weaken Saturday morning.
