Robberies

There was one robbery during the past week.

On Saturday, 02-25-23, at approximately 10:50 p.m., Officer Wong was dispatched to the 1000 block of Hillside Boulevard on a report of a strong-arm robbery. The victim stated that he left an establishment and saw the suspect outside. He had met the suspect eight months ago. The victim described the suspect as a light-complected Hispanic male with light facial hair on his chin. The known suspect insisted on taking the victim home. While they were walking home, the known suspect was on the phone with a group of unknown suspects. Once they were at the corner of Hillside Boulevard and Valley Street, a vehicle pulled up. The known suspect opened the rear passenger door and tried to push the victim into the back seat. After the known suspect realized he could not get the victim in the car, he punched the victim numerous times in the face. The known suspect then pushed the victim to the ground, kicked him in the shoulder, and kneed him in the chest. The victim had his gold chain, gold bracelet, and wallet containing numerous credit cards, AAA membership card, CA driver’s license, and $500-$600 cash stolen from him. Some of the credit cards were used by the suspect(s). This investigation is continuing.

Nextdoor.com

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try!  www.nextdoor.com
