Flash Flood Warning until 11:45AM

The National Weather Service in Paducah has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... Butler County in southeastern Missouri... Ripley County in southeastern Missouri... Stoddard County in southeastern Missouri...

* Until 1145 AM CST.

* At 736 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain have become scattered across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area with more storms that move into the region this morning. Flash flooding is ongoing. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Poplar Bluff, Dexter, Doniphan, Bernie, Bloomfield, Puxico, Naylor, Neelyville, Qulin, Fisk, and Fairdealing.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BUTLER, MO ... RIPLEY, MO ... STODDARD, MO

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
