Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé seeks the public’s help in locating the below-pictured vehicle in connection with a burglary into a parked van on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
 
At approximately 1:30 p.m., the driver of the suspect vehicle, an older model silver Infiniti, entered the parking lot of a business located in the 100 block of 12th Avenue and parked next to a van. A male suspect exited the vehicle and looked into the van before smashing the driver’s side window and taking the victim’s Hewlett-Packard 820 model laptop and a black tool bag. The suspect then re-entered his vehicle and exited the parking lot heading west on 12th Avenue.
 
The suspect vehicle is described as having a distinct mark on the rear bumper, directly underneath the driver-side tail light. The suspect is described as wearing a blue coat and jeans.
 
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle or the identity of the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
