IMPD's 25th Recruit Class Graduated Earlier Today
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) and Chief Randal Taylor are pleased to announce the graduation of the IMPD 25th Recruit Class. These 20 new probationary officers are set to begin their field training this weekend, serving Indianapolis neighborhoods.
The 25th IMPD Recruit Class was sworn-in on September 2, 2022. These officers have been assigned to the Training Division for the past 26 weeks. The recruit training curriculum consists of classroom and scenario-based training. The 25th Recruit Class will complete 20 weeks of on-the-job training in the Field Training Program.
Also participating in today’s graduation were two Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) captains who will serve as arson investigators.
The IMPD continues to focus on community-based beat policing with supporting efforts to target the small number of people who perpetrate violence and build stronger relationships with the community. The IMPD is currently recruiting entry-level and experienced officers to join the department. Learn more and apply at joinimpd.indy.gov.
