Involved Subject: Dustin Breeden (Whitney) 41, Petaluma
Incident Summary
On 3/3/2023, Detectives were conducting surveillance on a subject who fled from a court hearing earlier in the week. He had an active warrant for felony Domestic Violence and Dissuading a Witness. He had been under surveillance for several days when he emerged from his residence at 1450 hours today. Detectives started to coordinate patrol officers to the area in an attempt to safely take Breeden into custody. As patrol officers responded to the area, Breeden fled towards Madison. Detectives and patrol officers arrived onto Madison and gave chase on foot. Breeden attempted to jump a fence to the rear of a residence in the 700 block of Madison when police personnel converged on him and forcibly removed him from the fence and took him into custody.
Breeden was secured in handcuffs and a loaded 9mm handgun was removed from his waistband. Upon a search incident to arrest, 10 grams of fentanyl was removed from his person.
Breeden was taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital for a medical clearance prior to being transported to Sonoma County Jail for the warrant, being a Felon in Possession of a Handgun, Possession With Intent to Distribute Narcotics (Fentanyl), and Resisting/ Obstructing Arrest by Law Enforcement.
