Caregiver Arrested After Stealing Money from the Victim's Bank Account

INCIDENT: P.C. 368(E) – Elder Abuse/ Theft by a Caretaker
LOCATION: 300 Block of Victory Drive, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Judy Phillips, 44-year-old Female, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY:
On February 27, 2023, at approximately 10:22 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department were contacted by San Bernardino County Adult Protective Services in reference to theft occurring to their 75-year-old client. Judy Phillips was identified as the victim’s caregiver and the investigation showed Phillips had stolen several thousand dollars from the victim’s bank account.
Phillips was subsequently arrested for P.C. 368(E)– Elder Abuse/ Theft by a Caretaker. She was transported and booked into the High Desert Detention Center with a bail amount of $40,000. Phillips posted bail, is currently out of custody and awaiting a court date.
