Garvey School District, Temple Intermediate School conducting a Lockdown and Evacuation Training Drill - March 7th
Garvey School District, working in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Temple Sheriff’s Station, will conduct a Lockdown and Evacuation Training Drill on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Garvey Intermediate School. The scenario for the exercise will simulate a lockdown and evacuation of the school campus. The drill will include school officials and law enforcement, responding to the incident and mitigating the effects of the simulated lockdown and evacuation. It will serve as an opportunity to implement multi-agency coordination among community partners and to familiarize responders with their roles and responsibilities in planning, preparing for, and responding to a school lockdown and evacuation situation.
The exercise will include multiple Sheriff’s Department vehicles, streets closures, students and staff evacuating the school campus.
This notice is just to make you aware of the drill on March 7th and not be alarmed. Please avoid the area and allow the first responders and all agencies involved to focus on the training drill.
