INCIDENT: P.C. 29800-Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: 21500 Block of National Trails Highway, Barstow
SUSPECT: Justin Peacock, 34-years old, Resident of Barstow
SUMMARY: On Sunday, March 5, 2023, at approximately 10:25 a.m., Deputy Rivera went to a residence to follow-up on a trespassing investigation from Saturday, March 4, 2023. Upon arrival, Deputy Rivera attempted to contact Justin Peacock at his trailer, but received no response.
After knocking numerous times, Deputy Rivera noticed the door was slightly ajar and a pitbull was peeking out. Due to the strong winds and the dog peeking out, the door flew open and the interior of the trailer became visible. Deputy Rivera saw an assault riffle in plain view inside of the trailer.
Deputy Rivera had knowledge that Peacock is a convicted felon and should not be in possession of a firearm. Moments later Peacock arrived at the location and was detained.
Deputy Rivera and Deputy Hancock safely recovered and unloaded an AR-15 and taken for evidence.
Peacock was arrested and booked into Barstow Jail for P.C. 29800 Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
