INCIDENT: Traffic Collisison / Driving Under the Influence
LOCATION: Onaga Trail & Palm Avenue, Town of Yucca Valley
SUSPECT(S): Alexis Onies Montoya, 31-year-old Resident of Yucca Valley
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at approximately 4:03 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Morongo Basin Station, responded to a report of a single-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Onaga Trail and Palm Avenue.
Deputies discovered a Dodge Durango SUV was traveling westbound on Onaga Trail and made an unsafe turn, colliding into a tree. The driver of the Durango sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the collision. Deputies contacted the driver of the Durango, Alexis Montoya, and developed reasonable suspicion to believe she was driving under the influence of alcohol. A field sobriety test was conducted, and it was determined Montoya was under the influence of alcohol and driving impaired.
Montoya was arrested and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol.
