Solano County Under Flood Watch from March 9; Sand Bags Available from March 8

Solano County is under Flood Watch effective Thursday, March 9, at 3 PM, through Sunday morning, 10 AM, with expected heavy rainfall.

Now is the time to KNOW YOUR ZONE! With its recent launch, residents can now visit Zonehaven Aware at, plug in their most frequented addresses (e.g., home, school, work, etc.) and get emergency alert/evacuation/road closure information right at their fingertips. Learn more here:

Due to the impending inclement weather, residents and business owners can pick up sandbags from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. today through Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Public Works Corporation Yard at 420 Gregory Street. Sand will be available at the corner of Pittman and Cordelia Roads and at the southeast corner of Allan Witt Park, off Woolner Avenue.

Sand will be "self-serve" and there is a ten-bag limit. Sandbags should be filled only half full, as smaller bags pack tighter and are easier to handle. Overfilled bags are unstable when stacked and can leave gaps that allow water to flow through.

To report localized flooding, please contact the Public Works Operations Division, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on open Fridays, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at (707) 428-7407. The Operations Division is closed every other Friday of the month and on weekends. After hours, please call the Police Department at (707) 428-7300.
