*WHAT The Avalanche Danger will rise to HIGH (Level 4 of 5) on
Friday night and stay elevated through through Sunday morning.
*WHERE Park Range, Elk Head Mountains, Rabbit Ears Pass, Flat Tops
Mountains, Never Summer Mountains, Front Range, Gore Range,Grand
Mesa, San Juan Mountains, Uncompahgre Plateau, La Garita
Mountains,and La Plata Mountains
*WHEN In effect from 4:30 PM Friday, March 10 until 7 AM on Sunday, March 12
*IMPACTS Heavy snow and strong winds have created dangerous avalanche conditions in the backcountry. Large and dangerous avalanches will be very easy to trigger. Avalanches will run naturally.

*PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS Travel in backcountry avalanche terrain is not recommended Friday night and Saturday. Avoid travel on and under slopes steeper than about 30 degrees. You can find more detailed information at colorado.gov/avalanche. Anticipate road closures due to weather conditions.
