INCIDENT: Barricaded Assault with a Deadly Weapon Suspect

UNIT: Special Enforcement Bureau- Lieutenant Santiago Cabrera
NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) personnel are responding to assist Industry Station regarding a barricaded suspect.
The incident was reported Friday, March 10, 2023, at approximately 2:29 p.m. near the 16900 block of Wing Lane, Valinda.
Industry deputies initially responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, The Suspect began shooting at Deputies and a Deputy Involved shooting occurred. At the time of this writing, no one has been hit by gunfire. No Deputies have been injured. The Suspect is currently barricaded in a residence. Deputies have evacuated the surrounding homes and contained the location.The Special Enforcement Bureau has assumed tactical command of the incident.
One female victim was transported to a local hospital for an injury (not gunfire).
The Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) is on scene and is attempting to contact the suspect to resolve this situation peacefully. Public Information Officers are also on scene.
