INCIDENT: P.C. 29800(a)(1); Felon in possession of a firearm, P.C. 32310 large capacity magazine, P.C. 246.3(a); Willfully discharging a firearm.
LOCATION: 25000 Block of Byron Street, Highland
SUSPECT(S): Demon Lavon Johnson, 33-years-old, resident of San Bernardino
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Friday, March 10, 2023, at about 11:42 a.m., deputies from the Highland Station were dispatched to the 25000 block of Byron Street, in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located several fired cartridge casings in the street and the suspect vehicle was seen driving away. Deputies followed the vehicle and conducted a high-risk traffic stop.
The driver, Demon Johnson, was taken into custody without incident. Johnson was found to be on active parole. During the investigation, Deputies found that Johnson fired approximately 18 gunshots in the air. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and located a 9MM handgun with an extended magazine.
