Please see the message from Mayor Suarez

Good afternoon.  This is your Mayor, Anthony Suarez.  I want to let you know that tonight’s meeting of the Ridgefield Mayor and Council will be my last as Mayor.  The reason for this is because I have been confirmed by the New Jersey Senate Judiciary Committee to become a Superior Court Judge in Bergen County, and once the full Senate votes on my nomination, which is anticipated for March 20, I will have to resign my position as Mayor, a position which I held for almost 20 years.
I wanted to take the time to express my appreciation to all of you for allowing me to serve as your Mayor.  It has been an honor, and while I am excited to serve the state of New Jersey in the capacity of a Superior Court Judge, it is bittersweet as I love this Town and will keep you all in my prayers as I move into this new phase of my and my family’s life.
I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish during my tenure as mayor, including construction of a beautiful new library, and state of the art town hall, and successfully fighting the construction of a gas fired power plant on our border.  I want to thank all of the Borough’s employees and volunteers for what they do each and every day to make our town the best place in New Jersey to live and raise a family.  Let us continue to come together as a community to support each other and move Ridgefield in the right direction.
I also want to thank my wife, Catherine, my children, Laura and Matthew, for allowing me to serve the Borough for almost 25 years.  God bless you all and God bless the Borough of Ridgefield.
