The recent storm and snow melt have increased the amount of water flowing in the Tule River and Cross Creek.  At this point there is no serious threat of flooding to the city.  However, another storm system is coming in tomorrow (March 14^th) and as a precautionary measure to secure the levees and protect Corcoran from flooding, the following road closures south and west of town are in effect until further notice:  4^th Ave. at Quebec Ave.; Dairy (6^th Ave.) at Quebec Ave.; and Whitley Ave. near 9^th Ave.  You might see some farmland around the city accumulate more water, and there are already signs of Avenue 144 at Highway 43 experiencing flooding on the roadway.  Please be prepared to take an alternative route.  We will continue to monitor the situation and send updates through Nixle and our social media.
