Fairfield Prepares for Storm; Flood Watch in Effect Through March 15 at 10 am

A Flood Watch is in effect for Solano County until March 15th at 10am.

A High Wind Watch is also in effect starting tonight from 11pm until tomorrow at 11pm.

The next storm is slated to arrive tonight. The community is advised to be prepared for heavy rain, strong winds and possible power outages overnight into Tuesday afternoon.

Follow these tips to be storm ready:

Charge all electronic devices.
Never drive through standing water.
Clear storm drains of debris.
Have an emergency plan and disaster kit ready.
Bookmark Zonehaven AWARE at community.zonehaven.com so that you can readily access any evacuation and road closure information.
Pick up sandbags to guard against flooding.

Sandbags are available at the Fairfield Corporation Yard, 420 Gregory Lane this week through Friday, between 8 AM - 4 PM.

Sand is available at the southeast corner of Allan Witt Park off Woolner Avenue and Pittman and Cordelia Roads intersection.

To report localized flooding or fallen trees, call (707) 428-7407 during regular business hours or call Police non-emergency (707) 428-7300, option 8.

For downed powerlines, call 911 immediately.
