The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of March 05, 2023 – March 11, 2023.        
 
March 05, 2023

• No significant activity. 

March 6, 2023

• Petty Theft:

1470 Mountain Avenue (Best Buy). On March 6, 2023 at 6:39 PM, suspects unknown, a female white adult and a male white adult, entered the location and walked directly to the electronics department. The female suspect selected a “Sonos” Amplifier and placed it under her arm. Both suspects exited the front door without attempting to purchase the item. The suspects entered a grey Mercedes sedan with a license plate of 8THM432. The loss was approximately $700. Surveillance video is available. 
 
March 7, 2023

• Burglary (residential):

1730 Huntington Drive (Andres Duarte Terrace).  On March 7, 2023 at 8:00 PM, suspect(s) unknown, a male black adult wearing a grey beanie, black sweatshirt, and black pants, forced entry into the location’s library. The suspect was inside the location for approximately one and a half hours. A check of the location revealed nothing was stolen. However the furniture was moved around, and the location smelled of “Marijuana.” Surveillance video is available. 
 

• Petty Theft:

1470 Mountain Avenue (Best Buy).  On March 7, 2023 at 3:00 PM, suspect unknown, a male white adult wearing a grey shirt and dark pants, entered the location and walked directly to the wireless router section. The male suspect selected a “Nest” router and placed it inside a plastic bag. The suspect proceeded to the register, where he attempted to make a purchase for a separate item, where his credit card was declined. The suspect exited the front door without attempting to purchase the router he had placed inside the plastic bag. The loss was approximately $300. Surveillance video is available. 
 
March 8, 2023

 March 9, 2023

• Petty Theft:

1400 Block of Buena Vista Street. On March 9, 2023 between 12:00 AM and 11:10 AM, suspect(s) unknown stole the license plates and spare tire of the victim's 2020 white Jeep Wrangler. The loss was approximately $900. No surveillance video is available.      
 
March 10, 2023

• Burglary (residential):

1900 Block of Royal Oaks Drive.  On March 10, 2023 between 1:30 PM and 2:18 PM, suspect(s) unknown shattered the rear sliding glass door and entered the location. The suspect(s) ransacked the location and stole numerous items of jewelry and purses. The loss was approximately $70,000. No surveillance video is available.     
 

• Grand Theft:

1600 Mountain Avenue (Walmart). On March 10, 2023 at 3:00 PM, suspect unknown, a male white adult wearing a red hat, black jacket, blue pants, and black face mask, entered the location and walked directly to the jewelry section. The suspect forced open a display case and took a handful of jewelry. The suspect exited the front door without attempting to purchase the jewelry. The loss was approximately $5,000. Surveillance video is available. 
 
March 11, 2023

  Vehicle Security:

• An unlocked car is an open invitation to a car thief.
• Lock up when you leave your car, and take the keys with you.
• Lock the trunk or tailgate.
• Close all windows — professional thieves have tools that unlock cars through the smallest openings. 
• When you park the car, remove cellular phones and other valuable possessions. Do not leave anything lying on the seat.
• Lock all valuables in your trunk or take them with you.
• Lock your car even if you are making a quick stop at the gas station, convenience store, or mini-mall.
