On today’s date, officers from the Simi Valley Police Department and members of the Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force (VenCATT) conducted surveillance of a stolen U-Haul truck after it was found at Oak Park located at 901 Quimisa Dr. During the investigation, the driver who was identified as Krystal Cruz, 34 yrs. and a resident of New York, was taken into custody and booked into the Ventura County Mail Jail.
 
VenCATT conducts criminal investigations throughout Southern California using a collaborative team of detectives, police officers, investigators, and agents from local and state law enforcement agencies. The task force is exclusively dedicated to the pursuit of organized auto theft rings, fraud and other vehicle theft activity.  Participating agencies include the California Highway Patrol, the California Department of Motor Vehicles, the Oxnard Police Department, the Ventura Police Department, the Simi Valley Police Department, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, the California Department of Insurance and the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
