1. Armed Robbery (1159) 2000 Block of South El Dorado Street, Seaport District
The female victim, 24, was working at a business in the area. The suspect pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded cash from the register. The suspect unsuccessfully attempted to open the register prior to fleeing with the victim’s property and merchandise. SUSPECT: Hispanic male adult.
2. Attempt Robbery (1300) 2800 Block of Farmington Road, Park District
The victim was working as a clerk when the suspects entered and tried to rob an area business. The victim pointed a gun at one of the suspects, who was also armed with a gun. S#2 discarded the gun he had been carrying, and both suspects fled in a vehicle. There was no loss and the suspect’s firearm was recovered. SUSPECTS: Two Hispanic male adults.
3. Battery on an Officer (1420) 700 Block of Broadway Avenue, Park District
An officer responded to the listed location regarding a disturbance. An elderly female was heard screaming and calling for someone to call the police. The suspect fought with officers, attempted to take a police baton, and bit an officer. A baton and Taser were deployed. The suspect was taken into custody and placed in a restraint device. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. ARRESTED: Carlos Barba, 35, for elder abuse, battery on an officer, and resisting arrest.
