* IMPACTS...Flooding of the Little Colorado River in Bird Springs, including the bridge along Navajo Route 71, is expected. Deadly flooding over low-water crossings along the Little Colorado River.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1042 AM MST, river gauge reports indicated the Little Colorado River in Winslow continues to gradually rise. This elevated flow will reach Bird Springs shortly and crest later this afternoon or evening. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Little Colorado River. Flooding is occurring along the Little Colorado River. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Navajo Reservation. - Visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for more information on flood safety.

Stay away or be swept away! The banks of creeks and washes are unstable and unsafe during any flooding event. In hilly or mountainous terrain, there are many low water crossings which will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
