Update: Wildfire north of Locust Cove Rd. estimated at 90 acres with 85% containment. 
Firefighters made significant progress today in containing a wildfire that was first reported late Thursday evening along Locust Cove Rd. off NC 80 north of Marion. The fire is now 85% contained and has burned an estimated 90 acres. No structures are threatened and no injuries have been reported.
Please use caution while driving along NC 80 and be alert for emergency personnel working in the area.
