In the afternoon of March 17th, two Simi Valley Police Department Officers were patrolling in the area of Patrica Ave and Los Angeles Ave when they observed a vehicle speeding and run a red light.  The officers conducted an enforcement stop and contacted the driver, Ivelle Jennings, a 44 year-old Los Angeles resident.  Jennings was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and "shaved keys", which are associated with stolen vehicles.

The officers discovered that DMV did not have a record of the temporary plate or VIN attached to the car.  After a thorough investigation it was discovered that the car had been reported stolen out of Los Angeles in January of this year.

The stolen vehicle was recovered and Jennings was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility for driving a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a methamphetamine smoking pipe.
