UPDATE:BRPD Investigating two attempted burglaries and motor vehicle theft that occurred this morning between 6:45 and 7:05 am. 
This is an update to this morning's alert.
All four offenders are in custody. The stolen vehicle has been recovered, as well as a stolen vehicle used to commit these offenses. This is a continuing, multi-jurisdictional investigation, and no other information is available for release at this time.

Burr Ridge Officers are on-scene investigating two reported burglary attempts and a motor vehicle theft. One attempt occurred near Plainfield Rd. and County Line Road at 6:45 am. The second attempt and motor vehicle theft occurred near German Church Road and County Line Road at 7:05 am.
In the two burglary attempts, the offenders entered the garage of each residence using garage door openers that were in vehicles parked on the driveways of the homes, unlocked. In each, 3-4 male offenders exited a dark colored SUV, checked door handles of cars, and entered the garages to search vehicles inside. In one case, a male offender is seen holding a handgun while his accomplices search the cars in the garage.
The vehicle theft appears to be an extension of these incidents, where the offenders took a vehicle that was left unlocked with the keys inside.
