NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ADVISORY
Rain is expected to continue through Wednesday (3/22). Given the saturated soil and recent rains, we urge the community to continue to be aware of their surroundings.
Wind Advisory: In effect from 7 AM to 9 PM Tuesday, March 21. Gusts could be as high as 50 mph. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and power outages may result.
The city of Los Altos activated its Emergency Operations Center on March 15. Staff across the City is working around the clock, monitoring weather conditions to ensure a safe and swift response.
WHO TO CALL
- Report downed power lines immediately by calling 911 and then PG&E at 1 (800) 743-5002.
- All storm related hazards—street flooding, fallen trees/limbs, plugged storm drains, traffic signal outages, and fallen street signs—should be reported to the Maintenance Services Division at (650) 947-2785. After-hours calls should be directed to the Police Department’s 24/7 non-emergency line at (650) 947-2770.
- Report outages in your home or neighborhood to PG&E. Call their 24/7 Power Outage Information Center at 1 (800) 743-5002.
- Always call 911 if you are injured, in danger, or for any other emergencies.
POWER OUTAGE
In the event of a future power outage:
- Do not call 911 to report a power outage or to ask when power will be restored. These lines need to remain open for life-threatening emergencies only.
- Treat intersections with no power as a four-way stop.
