Three Vehicle Fatal Crash 

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports on 03/21/2023 at approximately 05:27 hours his office responded to a three vehicle injury crash. This crash occurred on US-12 near Kensington Rd., in Mason Township, Cass County, Michigan.      

Investigation showed the driver of a black BMW 325. Timothy Waudby, 58-year-old, Elkhart IN. Timothy lost control and went over the center line on US-12 striking oncoming traffic. The BMW first struck a sliver Jeep Gladiator then into a Silver Nissan Frontier. Timothy Waudby succumbed to his injuries.    

Driver of a Jeep Gladiator was Wayne Owdresky, 56-year-old, Niles resident had minor injuries and was released from the scene. Driver of the Nissan Frontier was Joshua Kronewitter, 45-year-old, Niles Resident had minor injuries and was transported by EMS to South Bend Memorial Hospital. 

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor and seatbelts were worn at the time of the crash. This case remains under investigation.  

Assisting agencies include Porter Township Fire Department, SEPSA Ambulance Service, Edwardsburg Ambulance Service, and MDOT.
