To maintain proficiency, deputies attend several firearms trainings per year.  Recently they attended a block of instruction that focused on low light conditions.  CCSO range staff honed and tested deputies’ ability to safely hold a firearm and flashlight simultaneously while enhancing their faster target acquisition and decision-making skills.  Unfortunately, one group of deputies endured rain and snow during their low light evening training.  The other group “endured” a beautiful Calaveras sunset as a bonus to the training.
