Bob Meyer Park will be closed today for removal and control of spotted lantern fly egg masses.
Bob Meyer Park will be closed on Wednesday afternoon, March 22nd, out of an abundance of caution to allow the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to treat limited areas in and around the parking lot for spotted lanternflies (SLF).
As lanternflies are presently in the egg mass stage, the masses will either be scrapped from trees, &/or a naturally occurring soybean oil based product will be applied to suffocate the eggs prior to hatching.
If additional information is requested, please call the Township's Open Space Coordinator at 609-654-2608 x330.
The NJ Department of Agriculture offers more information on the SLF at www.badbug.nj.gov
