LOCATION: Serra Road and Sweet Water Mesa Road, Malibu
PARTY INVOLVED(S): Male Adult
On Wednesday March 15, 2023, at approximately 1119 hours, Mr. Van Dyke was driving a vehicle southbound on Serra Road, Malibu. At the time, it was raining which caused the roads to become slick. While Mr. Van Dyke was driving, his vehicle slid off the roadway, causing his vehicle to collide with a block wall. Mr. Van Dyke sustained moderate injuries and was subsequently treated on the scene by members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. There were no other vehicles involved, nor were there any passengers in the vehicle at the time of the collision.
The traffic collision was investigated by LASD deputies, and it appears the cause of the collision is traveling at a speed which was unsafe for the present conditions. Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in this collision.
