INCIDENT: CVC 10851(A) - Vehicle Theft, HS 11377(A) - Possession of a Controlled Substance, and
PC 30305(A)(1) - Possession of Unlawful Ammunition
LOCATION: J Street and I 40 On Ramp, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Nathen Wright, 44-years-old, Resident of Lacey, WA.
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at approximately 3:37 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department contacted Nathen Wright during a traffic enforcement stop.
During the traffic stop, Wright was found to be on active probation. Drug paraphernalia was seen in plain view of the vehicle and a search was conducted. With the assistance of San Bernardino County Probation's K-9 Rio, several suspected blue fentanly pills were located along with a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine. Several rounds of unlawful ammunition were also located inside of the vehicle and in Wright's clothing. Wright is restricted from possessing ammunition due to his probation terms. A red Kawasaki street bike was also strapped in the bed of the vehicle and was found to be reported stolen.
Wright was arrested for VC 10851(A) - Vehicle Theft, HS 11377(A)- Possession of a Controlled Substance, and PC 30305(A)(1) - Possession of Unlawful Ammunition. Wright was transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking and remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $30,000, awaiting a court hearing.
