Borough welcomes return of Veo E-Scooters, Fri. March 24th

With the official start of spring this week and the conclusion of adverse winter weather (fingers crossed!), the Borough is pleased to announce the return of the Veo e-scooters to Highland Park. Please look for Veo parking/pick up sites at these locations off of Raritan Avenue and River Road;

  • So. 5th Ave
  • No. 4th Ave
  • No. 3rd Ave
  • So. 3rd Ave
  • Farmers Market parking lot
  • 101 Raritan Ave. parking lot
  • River Road Environmental Education Center/Native Plant Sanctuary parking lot
As a reminder for riders:
  • Download the app to get started! When you are ready to ride, be sure to download the app and set up your account. Income-qualified riders can apply to the Veo Access program for discounted rates.
  • Please, no riding on sidewalks. Highland Park's e-scooter ordinance prohibits riding on sidewalks, so please steer clear of pedestrians.
  • Consider wearing a helmet. The Local Bike Shop at 431 Raritan Ave has them in stock!
  • Check out the FAQs. Veo has answers to most Frequently Asked Questions, including how to rent scooters, use the app, follow safety rules and much more.
  • Park in designated locations. When downtown, riders should park scooters in the designated parking hubs. In neighborhood areas, riders may park in the public utility strip (or "verge")  along the Borough roadway, taking care not to obstruct the sidewalk.
As a reminder for everyone:
  • Stay alert! As always, motorists should keep a lookout for scooters, pedestrians and cyclists in the roadway. Scooter riders should steer clear of pedestrians.
  • Report problems. Veo and the Borough are committed to making this program a success. If you see an inappropriately parked scooter or any other issue, please call 855-836-2256 or email [email protected]. If you can, have the vehicle number located in between the handlebars handy as well as the location.
Thank you to all residents for helping us to safely reintroduce this exciting clean energy transportation alternative.
