**Abducted Child Located Safe** 
On 3/22/2023 the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division began investigating a child abduction involving a 3-year-old MALAKAI BLAKE GREENE, of Rutherford County, who had been taken in violation of a court order. An amber alert was issued for the child as the investigation began. Rutherford County Investigators along with the assistance of Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division, United States Marshals Service, Stanley County Sheriff’s Office, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were able to locate Malakai Greene in Oakboro, NC. Malakai Greene has been safely returned to family members. Information regarding charges in this incident will be released at a later date.
