* IMPACTS...Flooding of the Little Colorado River near Bird Springs, including the approaches to the bridge along Navajo Route 71. Deadly flooding over low-water crossings along the Little Colorado River.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 500 AM MST /600 AM MDT/, river gauges indicated significant rises on the Little Colorado River upstream of Bird Springs. The elevated flow is expected to reach Bird Springs this morning and crest later this afternoon. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Little Colorado River. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Bird Springs. - Visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for more information on flood safety.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away! The banks of creeks and washes are unstable and unsafe during any flooding event. Low water crossings will become dangerous. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
