Newark Department of Public Safety Hosts Citizen Clergy Public Safety Workshop Each Tuesday, April 11-June 6, 2023
During the 9-week training, participants will receive information regarding the operations of the Newark Police and Fire divisions as well as the Office of Emergency Management (OEM).
Participants will also receive a glimpse into how officers of the Newark Police Division are trained, how deployment decisions are made, and how calls for service are prioritized.
The group will also learn how to devise
a fire escape plan, how arson investigations are conducted, and training on the proper use of a fire extinguisher in the Fire Division’s training section. The OEM will treat the group to view its equipment and to discover how OEM functions during catastrophic emergency situations.
