Deputies Investigate a Three Vehicle Collision on SR-62 and Deer Trail in Yucca Valley

Driver/ Vehicle #1- Simone Roseborough, 34-years-old, Female Resident of Desert Hot Springs / 2017 Grey Volkswagen Passat
Driver/ Vehicle #2- Gregory Escalona, 37-years-old, Male Resident of Yucca Valley / 2017 White Chevy Malibu
Driver/ Vehicle #3- Alexis Verdugo, 30-years-old, Male Resident of Calexico / 2013 White Freightliner Semi-Truck with Trailer
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at approximately 7:18 A.M, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Morongo Basin Station, responded to a report of a three vehicle traffic collision, at the intersection of SR-62 and Deer Trail.
Deputies discovered a grey Volkswagon sedan traveling west on SR-62, did not stop at a red traffic light and collided with a white Chevy sedan at the intersection of Deer Trail. The Volkswagon lost control and drove into the eastbound SR-62 lane causing it to collide into a semi-truck. The semi-truck was stopped on the #2 eastbound SR-62 lane at a red light when it was hit by the Volkswagon.
All three drivers denied any injuires. A portion of the eastbound #2 lane of SR-62 and Deer Trail was closed for a short time until tow trucks arrived to remove the vehicles from the roadway.
