Incident Summary

On 03/23/2023 at approximately 9:04 PM, Petaluma Police Department officers were called to a report of an unoccupied vehicle parked in front a community members residence with the engine running. It was determined shortly after receiving the information that the vehicle was reported stolen out of San Rafael. Officers arrived on scene and monitored the vehicle for a short while to monitor for potential suspects returning.

After seeing no one in the area, officers took possession of the vehicle and later towed it away for safekeeping after being unable to make contact with the victim.

Officers continued to investigate the incident and canvassed the nearby neighborhood for evidence and potential suspects. After an extensive search and speaking with several nearby community members, officers were able to locate evidence at various locations that lead them to a residence nearby.

Officers made contact with two subjects at a residence on Santa Ines Way, which were ultimately identified as being the suspects who had been in possession of the stolen vehicle. They were identified as Tania Sanchez-Soto and Enrique Galica-Torres.

After the two suspects were detained, evidence was located with them that linked them to the stolen vehicle. Additionally, suspected narcotics and associated paraphernalia were located. Both suspects were arrested for various charges and later transported to the Sonoma County Jail where they were booked without incident.
