The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Northern Pontotoc County in northeastern Mississippi... Prentiss County in northeastern Mississippi... Southern Tippah County in northeastern Mississippi... Union County in northeastern Mississippi... Eastern Lafayette County in northwestern Mississippi... Southeastern Marshall County in northwestern Mississippi...

* Until 130 AM CDT.

* At 1008 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Booneville, New Albany, Pontotoc, Baldwyn, Blue Mountain, Ecru, Jumpertown, Keownville, New Harmony, Etta, Pinedale, Randolph, Bethlehem, Cambridge, Wheeler, Denmark, Tula, Thrashers, Paris and Sherman.
