Arrest Made in Attempted Homicide

On Friday, 3/24/2023 at approximately 7 p.m., Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Officers were assisting with an unrelated public service event in the 800 block of San Aleso Avenue, when they were flagged down by an adult male victim, who appeared to have been shot once in the leg. The officers immediately provided medical aid to the victim. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital for treatment and was later released. 

Santa Clara Police and Mountain View Police resources responded to assist with locating the suspect. A perimeter around the area was established. The suspect was identified as Joshua Moseley. He was located within the perimeter and taken into custody without incident. A firearm was also located within the perimeter. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and suspect are known to each other. It appears that the suspect fired several rounds at the victim. The suspect was ultimately arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for various offenses including attempted murder. This incident is still under investigation. There is no on-going threat to the community and there are no suspects outstanding.
