IMPD Homicide Detectives Make Quick Arrest in Last Week’s Homicide Investigation.

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) arrested 21-year-old Antwone Ervin for his alleged role in the recent death of 53-year-old Brian Williams. 
On Friday, March 24, 2023, just after 3:00 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Southeast district officers responded to 3439 S. Meridian St. for a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located an adult male, later identified as Brian Williams, with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s). Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services responded and transported Mr. Williams to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
 
 
The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to identify and collect potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death.
 
The IMPD homicide detectives responded and began the investigation. Detectives identified Ervin as a suspect in this crime. Later in the evening, IMPD Officers located Ervin and transported him to the IMPD Homicide Office.  Ervin was subsequently arrested for his alleged role in this homicide.
 
The Marion County Prosecutors Office will review the case and determine a final charging decision.
