South Brunswick Police Department Traffic Enforcement Details; Roadwork Scheduled; SBHS Distracted Driving Pledge

Traffic Enforcement Details Week of April 1st  Through April 7th:
 
In an effort to address recurring traffic safety concerns within the Township, the South Brunswick Police Department will be conducting the following directed traffic enforcement details during the week of April 1st through April 7th:
 
West Side:
Sandhill Road: Speeding, Distracted Driving & Weight Ordinance Violations
 
East Side:
Route 130: Speeding, Distracted Driving, Traffic Signal Violations and Failure to Keep Right
 
These traffic enforcement details will be conducted in addition to our Department's routine traffic enforcement efforts. 
 
Road Work Scheduled For Cranbury Road (Route 535):
 
Milling and paving for the PSE&G gas main replacement project in the area of Cranbury South River Road (Route 535) and Ridge Road will begin Wednesday 3/29 and continue through Friday 3/31. The hours of operation will be 9 am to 5 pm. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained, expect delays. Please observe the posted signs and follow the direction of police officers and other traffic controllers.
 
Road Work Continuing For Route 27 Overnight:
 
NJDOT is continuing to work on Route 27 between Route 518 and Laurel Avenue. The southbound lane of Route 27 will continue to be closed between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., nightly, Monday through Thursday, for an extended period of time. Please follow posted detour and plan an alternate route if possible.  Local residents will be able to access 27 from either end of the closure at the direction of officers.
 
Road Work Scheduled For Ridge Road – Dayton:
 
PSEG will be installing a new gas main along Ridge Road and Griggs Drive, beginning Monday April 3. An alternating traffic plan will be used for approximately 1 week between Georges Road and Griggs Drive, at which point a lane shift is anticipated. The overall project could take up to 8 weeks. The hours of operation will be 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on select Saturdays.
 
 
SBHS Helping Hands Club Distracted Driving Awareness Program:
 
The SB Helping Hands club at South Brunswick High School is continuing its campaign to bring awareness to distracted driving! The campaign is called "Mind on the Road, Hands on the Wheel" and the focus this year is on being both a safe, responsible driver and passenger. A goal of the campaign is to get South Brunswick Community members to pledge to be safe drivers. You can do this at: https://jerseydrives.com/pledge-2-win/ or scan the QR code on the poster.
