There will be a Chometz disposal drop-off service before Passover from 6:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Department of Public Works, 444 Valentine Street. Please follow regular recycling rules and separate garbage and chometz from recycling. For additional information please call (732) 247-9379.
Native Plants for Everyone, Friday: 4/7
Interested in learning how to attract beneficial pollinator species to your garden? Looking to add perennial beauty to your backyard or balcony? Join us in the H.P. Public Library meeting room as we welcome Sue Tarr, presenting Native Plants for Everyone at 7 p.m. Co-sponsored by Sustainable Highland Park and HP Public Library. A Butterfly Weed planting activity will take place following the presentation.
H.P. Gives a Hoot, Tuesdays: 4/4, 4/11, 4/18 & 4/25
Highland Park Gives a Hoot offers free groceries to Highland Park families in need of support. Distributions are held every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Zone 6 Teen Center, 600 Benner Street.
Open Gym, Thursdays: 4/20, 5/4, & 5/18
The Highland Park Police Department presents ‘Open Gym’ for students in 5th – 8th grades from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in the Bartle School Gym, 435 Mansfield St. For more information, please email Officer Brian O’mara at [email protected].
Food Pantry Distribution, Thursdays: 4/13 & 4/27 & Saturdays: 4/15 & 4/29

Highland Park 5K/Spring Street Fair & Earth Day Fest, Sunday: 5/7

Bulk pick-up by Appointment
Reminder to residents that Bulk waste collection are by appointment. Pick-ups will be scheduled on Wednesdays during the months of April, May, June, September and October. To make an appointment, please call Public Works at 732-247-9379. Each household may request up to two collections per year.

Highland Park Recreation Programs
Highland Park Recreation offers a variety of adult and youth winter programs. Families that qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for a 60% discount on all programs offered by the Borough.
Fireworks in the Park, Sunday: 7/2 (Raindate: Monday 7/3)
Festivities start at 5:00 pm with kids activities, food vendors and music. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:20 pm.
Parkstock Music Festival, Thursdays: 7/20, 7/27, 8/3 & 8/10
Outdoor concert series on Thursday nights at Donaldson Park, Grove 1, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Select food vendors will be on site.
