Mayor Halpern and the Borough Council Members are very pleased to announce that a project designed to improve the condition of McCarter Pond will begin on or about April 10^th .  The project will  continue through April 26^th or sometime thereafter, depending on weather and other factors. 

The delivery of equipment began today and the contractor will continue to set up the staging area over the next week. The goal of the project is to remove many years worth of accumulated vegetative waste, which will increase the amount of clear water and improve the oxygen levels in the pond.  

The project has the full support of the Fair Haven Environmental Commission and it is being funded through capital previously allocated in the Borough’s budget. 

In the interest of safety, we ask all residents to avoid in and around the area of the pond during both staging and construction.
