Simi Valley Police and Ventura County Fire responded to a collision on the evening of March 30, 2023, at around 8:14 PM in the 1600 block of Cochran St. Upon arrival, officers found a severe traffic collision between a silver colored Scion Wagon and a white late model Mazda. Unfortunately, the driver of the Scion was declared deceased at the scene by EMS personnel. The driver and passenger of the Mazda, both male juveniles, were reported to have only sustained minor injuries, with one being taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to initial information, the driver of the Silver Scion was traveling westbound on Cochran when they crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming eastbound traffic and collided with the Mazda.
The identity of the deceased will not be released until the family has been notified. Senior Officer Travis White is leading the investigation into the collision. Anyone with information on the incident should contact Senior Officer White at (805) 583-6950.
