South Brunswick Police are looking for new officers. Chief Raymond Hayducka announced today that the department will be giving an entrance exam for potential candidates who want to become an officer. “We are looking for the best of the best to join our ranks and serve our community. I want leaders who will work through the challenges we face and overcome the obstacles put in front of them,” said Chief Hayducka.
South Brunswick Police Department is one of only a handful of police departments in New Jersey that is both nationally and state-accredited. “Our excellence comes from the people we hire and the partnerships we form. This entrance exam gives us a great opportunity to attract sharp, mature, hard-working women and men who have the desire to serve,” Chief Hayducka added. The department currently has 84 full-time sworn officers and handles over 88,000 calls annually. South Brunswick is a 42-square-mile Township that has over 47,000 residents and one of the premier public school systems in the state.
South Brunswick Township is a great place to be a police officer. We have a supportive community and elected officials. “Our focus is to have the best trained and equipped officers and we do it with the support of our Mayor, Council, and community,” said Chief Hayducka.
At a minimum, candidates must be between 18 and 35 years of age, possess a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college or university at the time of hire; or have four years of active military service in the United States Armed Forces with an Honorable Discharge. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens and hold a current driver's license.
The department will give a competitive exam administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.
