New Water Filtration System – We are happy to inform our residents that the NJDEP has granted final approval for the Borough to award the contract for our water filtration system designed to remove the PFOA and PFNA contaminates from our water system. We have scheduled Pre- Construction meetings as we continue to fast track the process. Subject to supply chain issues, we expect to meet our goal of having this project finished in this calendar year. Please be aware that we are required by law to send out quarterly notices of violation until this project is completed. You will still see letters in April, July and most likely October.
The Borough’s Budget- has been introduced and is available for review online. www.hhkborough.com/finance The Governing Body is proposing an increase of 1.9 tax points (as low as any reported in the area this year- many towns have record breaking increases) on the 28% of your tax bill we control. That equates to 50 cents a day or $15 a month on the average home. Please note the Public Hearing and adoption is scheduled for April 25th at 7pm in Borough Hall. The following chart shows the breakdown of your property tax bill.
