The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Northern Cook County in northeastern Illinois... Northern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois...

* Until 930 PM CDT.

* At 613 PM CDT, doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen in the past 60 minutes. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 2 hours. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and other poor drainage areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Chicago, Aurora, Naperville, Elgin, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg, Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Wheaton, Hoffman Estates, Glenview, Elmhurst, Lombard, Bartlett, Ohare Airport, Streamwood and Carol Stream.
